On November 11, 2024, the City of Tampa will close its offices in observance of Veterans Day, but solid waste collection services for both residential and commercial customers will continue uninterrupted. Residential customers scheduled for Monday collection will receive their garbage and recycling services, while yard waste collection remains suspended due to hurricane debris management efforts. The McKay Bay Transfer Station will not operate on Veterans Day but will resume its regular schedule on November 12, 2024. Residents can easily check their scheduled collection dates through the Tampa Trash and Recycling tool on the Department of Solid Waste webpage or via the mobile app available in the Apple and Google Play stores. For any questions, the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center can be reached at (813) 274-8811.

New Tampa residents are reminded to contact Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management for information regarding their specific holiday collection schedules. This timely announcement highlights the city's commitment to maintaining essential services even during holidays. The initiative ensures that residents remain informed and can plan accordingly for their waste management needs.
