Tampa Bay, FLLocal News

Subtropical Storm Patty has developed in the northern Atlantic, with the National Hurricane Center reporting maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. Patty is currently located about 170 miles west-northwest of the Azores and is expected to pass near or over the islands this weekend. The NHC is concurrently monitoring two additional systems in the Caribbean, one of which has a 70% probability of evolving into a tropical depression in the coming days. This system is projected to move generally northward and northwestward, posing a risk of heavy rainfall for Jamaica, Hispaniola, and Cuba. Furthermore, forecasters are observing a separate area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms extending from Puerto Rico, which may also show signs of development.

As the hurricane season reaches its final weeks, the potential for significant weather events underscores the necessity for vigilance in the region. The article emphasizes the urgency of these developments and their broader implications for affected areas. Residents and authorities are encouraged to stay informed as conditions evolve.
