The Adderley: New Affordable Housing Complex to Open in Tampa

Tampa Bay, FLLocal News

The City of Tampa recently announced the development of The Adderley, an affordable housing complex aimed at supporting low-income residents in the community. This initiative, highlighted on August 21, 2024, involves a partnership with Blue Sky Communities and is located at the intersection of Nebraska Avenue and Busch Boulevard. The complex features 128 units reserved for individuals and families earning 80% or less of the area median income, addressing the pressing need for affordable housing. Funded by a $2 million investment from the City, sourced from the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program and other grants, The Adderley aims to alleviate housing costs for local residents. Mayor Jane Castor underscored the project's significance in ensuring that vulnerable populations can remain in their neighborhoods.

The development includes amenities such as a swimming pool, playground, clubhouse, and fitness center for residents. Currently, applications are being accepted, with the goal of moving residents in by September. This initiative reflects a commitment to improving housing accessibility and community development in Tampa.
