Tampa Announces Labor Day Closure and Revised Waste Collection Schedule

Tampa Bay, FLLocal News

In light of the upcoming Labor Day holiday, the City of Tampa has announced that its offices will be closed on September 2, 2024. This closure will affect solid waste collection services for both residential and commercial customers. Residential customers who typically receive service on Mondays will not have their garbage, recycling, or yard waste collected, with no make-up day provided. Instead, these residents will have their service resume on the next scheduled collection day, September 3, 2024. Commercial customers will also not receive service on Labor Day and will experience a one-day delay in collection through Saturday, September 7, 2024.

The McKay Bay Transfer Station will be closed as well and will reopen under an abbreviated schedule on September 3, 2024. For personalized collection schedules, residents are encouraged to download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app. For any questions or concerns regarding collection services, the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center is available to assist.
