Suspect in Stabbing Charged After Jumping From Overpass

Late Wednesday night, Tampa Police were dispatched to the Trails at Hunters Village Apartments following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female suffering from multiple stab wounds and significant blood loss; she was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she is now in stable condition. Investigators quickly identified the suspect, 31-year-old Thomas Sapp, who was known to the victim. The police, in collaboration with the US Marshals Task Force, found Sapp's possible location on Thursday morning. As officers attempted to apprehend him, Sapp jumped from an overpass onto Interstate 275, narrowly avoiding a collision with a semi-truck.

He sustained serious injuries from the fall and is currently being treated in the hospital while awaiting charges of attempted murder. The incident raises concerns about public safety and the prevalence of violence in the community. Authorities confirmed that this remains an active investigation, with updates expected as more information becomes available.
