'Sash and Sill' owner arrested as dozens of Sarasota County homeowners wait for answers without money, windows

Tampa Bay, FLLocal News

Todd Hoch, the owner of "Sash and Sill," has been arrested following numerous customer complaints regarding unfulfilled window orders and significant deposits. Cody Davis, who paid over $30,000 for windows that were never delivered, discovered his order was never placed. Hoch informed clients of the company’s closure and his bankruptcy, stating he was working to complete some projects. Investigators found no permits were pulled for installations, leading to felony charges against Hoch from Punta Gorda and Charlotte County. Local authorities report over 30 cases pending against him, raising concerns among affected customers like Maureen Harvey.

She questions where her money went and hopes for a resolution. The situation highlights flaws within the contractor system, as expressed by Davis, who calls for reforms to prevent future incidents. Hoch is scheduled for an arraignment on August 25, 2025.
