Homelessness advisory board needs members

Pierce County Human Services invites community members to join the Implementation Advisory Board (IAB) for its Comprehensive Plan to End Homelessness. The IAB will oversee implementation strategies and ensure accountability, with applications due by July 7 and interviews on July 11. The board seeks committed individuals from diverse sectors, including service providers, public health professionals, and those with lived experiences of homelessness. The plan aims to reach "functional zero," ensuring immediate shelter access for anyone facing homelessness. To support the plan's effectiveness, community feedback sessions are being held, with the next session scheduled for July 19.

The Comprehensive Plan includes six goals, such as a unified response to homelessness and effective intervention programs. The first feedback session occurred on April 28, with results to be shared online soon. This initiative reflects Pierce County's commitment to addressing homelessness through community involvement and strategic planning.
