Rainiers hire Triple-A baseballs first female broadcaster

Tacoma, WASports

Rylee Pay has joined the Tacoma Rainiers as the first female play-by-play announcer in Triple-A baseball history. Her previous experience includes two seasons with the Portland Sea Dogs, where she honed her skills as a broadcaster and media relations assistant. Pay applied for the Rainiers position after longtime announcer Mike Curto retired, excited about the opportunity to return to the West Coast. She appreciates the talent in the Mariners' farm system and enjoys witnessing player development throughout the season. Tacoma's welcoming community and scenic views have also made a positive impression on her.

Pay encourages aspiring broadcasters to gain as much experience as possible through internships and challenges. She emphasizes the importance of establishing a strong support system in the industry. Listeners can tune in to her broadcasts online at wertacoma. com/broadcast.
