Lawn bowling season at Wright Park

Tacoma, WALocal News

The Tacoma Lawn Bowling Club has launched its 2025 season at Wright Park, inviting players aged 18 and older to participate. This community fixture, founded in 1929, operates on a green maintained by Parks Tacoma. Club president Laura Moscatello emphasized the sport's accessibility, saying, “It’s an easy game to learn but it’s also hard to master. ” The club offers learn-to-bowl classes, with the next sessions on July 12 and July 19, where all equipment is provided. Regular play involves random team formations, fostering a friendly competitive atmosphere.

The club plans to install a sign at the park to educate the public about its 96-year history. Moscatello also noted the club’s appeal to all ages, stating, “It’s definitely a sport you can do your whole life. ” The Tacoma Lawn Bowling Club encourages community involvement and invites newcomers to experience the sport firsthand.
