Lakewood Farmers Market now open

The Lakewood Farmers Market opened on June 3 at Fort Steilacoom Park, running every Tuesday from 2-7 p. m. until August 26. This year, the market features ten food farmers and nearly 20 processors, providing a wide array of fresh produce, baked goods, and local artisan crafts. For the first time, the market accepts SNAP and EBT benefits, allowing customers to benefit from the SNAP Market Match program, which provides up to $25 per day for fresh produce purchases.

The market will feature a diverse selection of food trucks, serving everything from pizza to Filipino comfort foods. Local organizations, including the Lakewood Police Department and Pierce Transit, will also participate, enhancing community engagement. The market will be closed on July 15 and 22 but will continue to offer a vibrant gathering space for the community. Additionally, Summer Nights at the Pavilion Concerts will take place every Tuesday at 8 p. m.

, offering family-friendly entertainment after the market closes. Concert performances include various musical genres, adding to the summer festivities in Lakewood.
