Summer brings free lunch, late nights

Tacoma's Free Summer Meal Program provides free lunches to youth aged 18 and younger from June 23 to August 28 at several parks throughout the city. Operating Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p. m. , the program includes games and crafts led by Parks Tacoma staff. Concurrently, Summer Late Nights invites middle and high school students to enjoy free dinners and participate in various activities from 5 to 8 p.

m. at multiple locations. Parents are encouraged to pre-register their children for a smoother entry experience, although it is not a requirement. Students must show a school ID or official government ID verifying their date of birth if they did not pre-register. This community initiative, supported by Tacoma Public Schools and various partners, aims to keep local youth engaged and safe during the summer months.

Tacoma Public Schools expresses gratitude for the assistance from organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound and the YMCA.
