Coordinated Care has announced the expansion of its Foster Care Centers of Excellence (FCCOE) program, increasing the number of sites to eight across Washington. These centers meet over 50 criteria for providing high standards of care and have shown better health outcomes, including a 25. 4% higher rate of well-child visits compared to other facilities. Dr. Usha Sankrithi highlighted the necessity of trauma-informed care for children who have experienced trauma.

Community Health Care's FCCOE, directed by Desiree White, has served nearly 2,000 children since its inception in 2020. White emphasized the importance of integrating health and social services for the overall welfare of families in foster care. The FCCOEs facilitate smooth transitions to medical homes and ensure timely access to necessary services. Unique approaches, such as creating a child-friendly environment, help establish trust with patients who have faced trauma. Coordinated Care's expansion represents a significant step in improving healthcare access and quality for foster children and their families.
