Boots the fire ambulance arrives

Tacoma, WALocal News

Malory Graham and Kevin Flick proudly introduced "Boots," a distinctive 1977 fire-ambulance from Sweden, to the streets of Tacoma, celebrating with a welcome party at Engine House No. 9. Their frequent visits to Tacoma are linked to Malory's mother, Claire Petrich, a well-known community figure. The couple won Boots at auction while living in Sweden, with Kevin navigating language barriers with the auctioneers. After restoring the vehicle, they converted it into a camper, enhancing its off-road capabilities for adventures in the Pacific Northwest.

Boots, with only about 5,000 miles on it, has become a local sensation, often attracting conversations and smiles from onlookers. Kevin highlighted the vehicle's impressive off-road performance, noting its ability to tackle challenging terrains. The couple's experience with Boots has deepened their connection to the community, as they enjoy the joy it brings to others. Malory emphasized the enthusiasm of locals, stating they have already been asked about Boots multiple times since its arrival.
