County brings Community Summit Watch Party

Pierce County, Kitsap County, and the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services will host a Community Summit Watch Party on June 4, 2025, at the Marriott Tacoma Downtown. This free event invites community members to watch and engage with a live stream of the summit focused on inclusion and equity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Attendees will have the chance to network with peers and share their perspectives on these crucial topics. The opening keynote speaker, Emily Ladau, is a well-known disability rights activist with a strong track record in advocacy and communications. Ladau has received several prestigious awards, including the Progressive Women’s Voices IMPACT Award in 2023 and the Paul G.

Hearne Emerging Leader Award in 2018. The Community Summit aims to promote person-centered practices and systems change in Washington state. The watch party will take place from 8 a. m. to 5 p.
