New athletics director at University of Puget Sound

Herman brings over 20 years of experience in collegiate athletics, most recently serving as deputy athletics director at California State University, San Bernardino. In her new position, she will oversee the university's athletics program, which includes 23 varsity sports and a coaching staff dedicated to student-athlete development. Approximately 28% of Puget Sound students participate in varsity athletics, highlighting a strong commitment to teamwork and school spirit. Vice President Sarah Comstock expressed excitement about Herman's mission-driven leadership style.

Herman's academic credentials include a Ph. D. in Sport Ethics and Sports Administration from the University of Idaho, where her dissertation focused on supporting NCAA athletes during career transitions. She has also held leadership roles at Seattle University, emphasizing her extensive background in athletics compliance. Herman's vision for the athletics program aims to create transformative experiences for athletes and staff, showcasing her commitment to the university community.
