Tacoma athlete heads to Worlds Strongest Man

Tacoma's Lucas Hatton is preparing for his debut at the World’s Strongest Man competition in Sacramento, occurring from May 15-18. This prestigious event will see 25 elite strongmen compete at the California State Railroad Museum for the title and substantial prize money. Hatton, who became a professional strongman in 2022, has dedicated over 16 years to strength training. He emphasized that success in strongman requires years of training and genetic predisposition. The competition will feature various events, including the Hercules Hold and the Atlas Stones, which pay homage to the sport's history.

Hatton, who co-owns a strength and conditioning gym in Auburn, practices strongman full-time, a unique position among competitors. Fans can follow the competition on social media, while CBS plans to air the full event starting in July. Hatton ranks among the top heavyweight men globally and looks forward to showcasing his skills.
