Tacoma has a new postmaster

Damon Coquillette was appointed as the new Tacoma Postmaster during a ceremony on May 9, 2025, at the Tacoma Processing and Distribution Center. The event, hosted by Customer Services Manager Rodney King, featured Washington District Manager Trent McNeal administering the oath of office. Coquillette is responsible for over 500 employees and 199,000 delivery points, emphasizing his commitment to exceptional customer service in Tacoma. He thanked McNeal for his selection and acknowledged the mentors who have supported him throughout his career. Starting as a letter carrier in 1999 in Caney, Kansas, Coquillette has progressively taken on various roles within the Postal Service.

His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in technology management and a master's degree in human resources management from Pittsburg State University. The community's support during the transition reflects the local significance of this leadership change. Coquillette's experience positions him well to enhance postal services in Tacoma.
