In "Fearless: Hilarious and Horrible Stories from An Absurd Life Spent in the Woods," Alison Monda explores her journey of self-discovery through outdoor adventures. The book features humorous anecdotes from her time backpacking the Pacific Crest Trail and Te Araroa, where she faced grizzlies and survived a cyclone. Monda's mission is to empower women to pursue their dreams without dependence on others, stating, "I am the man. I don’t need a man. " Her candid storytelling, which includes her mistakes and mishaps, has garnered a following on social media.

Monda, a firefighter and Olympic Mountain Rescue volunteer, defies traditional gender roles and inspires others to embrace the outdoors. She aims to demonstrate that anyone can achieve remarkable feats with courage and determination. A book signing event will take place on May 3 at the Pacific Northwest Shop in Tacoma, providing an opportunity for readers to meet the author.
