The Tacoma Rainiers experienced a 2-0 defeat against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys on April 26, 2025, resulting in their first shutout of the season at Cheney Stadium. With an impressive attendance of 6,895, the game highlighted the local community's support. Sauryn Lao started strong, retiring eight of the first nine batters, but allowed a run in the third inning, followed by a double from Shay Whitcomb. The Space Cowboys extended their lead in the fourth, with Collin Price scoring after a double play. Tacoma's bullpen, particularly Austin Kitchen, shone brightly, delivering 3.

2 scoreless innings, a career high at Triple-A. Colton Gordon of Sugar Land secured the win with seven shutout innings and eight strikeouts, while Miguel Castro earned the save. This shutout ended a remarkable run of 41 games with at least one run for Tacoma. The Rainiers will face Sugar Land again on April 27 for the final game of the series.
