Rainiers allow four-run sixth inning in loss to Sugar Land

Tacoma, WALocal News

The Tacoma Rainiers suffered a 4-1 defeat against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys on April 22, 2025, in a game that showcased missed opportunities for Tacoma. The Rainiers out-hit the Space Cowboys but could not convert their chances into runs. The sixth inning proved pivotal, as Sugar Land scored four runs, aided by three walks from Tacoma's Shintaro Fujinami. Tacoma responded with a run in the bottom of the sixth, when Harry Ford hit an RBI single. The Rainiers loaded the bases twice but failed to score further, leaving fans frustrated.

This loss marks the first time since August 16, 2016, that Tacoma lost a game while allowing only three hits. Harry Ford extended his hitting streak to three games and on-base streak to eight, both team highs. The Rainiers will face Sugar Land again on April 23 at Cheney Stadium.
