In an impressive season opener, the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Round Rock Express 6-1, showcasing their talent and depth. Round Rock managed to narrow the gap with a run in the fourth, but Leo Rivas' three-run homer in the fifth decisively broke the game open.

Young and Ford also made history by achieving their first Triple-A hits, while Williamson added to the offense with a hit that drove in a run. Blas Castano's relief performance was stellar, as he allowed just one hit in 3. 1 innings, effectively shutting down Round Rock's attempts to rally.
