Tacoma Stars brand reaches Kenya

Tacoma, WALocal News

The Tacoma Stars have expanded their brand’s reach to Kenya by donating much-needed soccer kits to a youth organization struggling with limited resources. This initiative was sparked when player and front office member Fellipe Souza met Duncan Awuor Aluoch from The United Youths Development Group during a match against Ballard FC. Aluoch shared the challenges faced by young athletes in Kenya, including inadequate equipment and facilities. Understanding the profound impact of sports on youth, Souza, who works for Datec, Inc. , organized the donation of gear.

Aluoch recently sent heartwarming photos of the Kenyan players donning their new Stars kits, symbolizing hope and support. Souza expressed gratitude for the collaboration, emphasizing the passion these kids have for soccer despite their hardships. The owner of the Tacoma Stars, Lane Smith, has a longstanding commitment to community service, further reinforcing the team's values. This partnership not only enhances the Stars' brand but also highlights the power of sports in bridging cultural divides and fostering connections.
