Pete Reyes fills final vacant seat on Park Board

Tacoma, WALocal News

Pete Reyes has been appointed to the Tacoma Park Board, marking the completion of its regular structure with five commissioners. His selection came after a unanimous vote during a regular board meeting, where he was chosen from a pool of six finalists. Reyes, who has served as a licensed practical nurse supervisor for Comprehensive Life Resources, is also actively involved in community initiatives as a tree steward for Tacoma Tree Foundation and a member of the Hilltop Action Coalition. He emphasizes the importance of listening to the community and collaborating with others to achieve the best outcomes. Reyes succeeds Rosie Ayala, who has moved on to serve on the Pierce County Council.

His appointment comes amid a period of transition for the board, which has recently filled three vacancies due to a retirement, a death, and a resignation. New members Alisa Lee and Carla Santorno were appointed to the board earlier this year. Reyes will serve until 2025, contributing his professional insights and community-focused approach to the Park Board.
