The city is particularly focused on fostering diversity and equity within its committees, encouraging applications from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, individuals with disabilities, seniors, immigrants, and refugees. Candidates must complete Open Public Meetings Act and Public Records Act trainings within 90 days of being appointed, ensuring they are well-informed about governance practices.
