Pothole Palooza Will Focus on the Maintenance and Preservation of 10 Arterial Roadways June 37

Tacoma, WALocal News

Tacoma's Pothole Palooza, set for June 3-7, 2024, will spotlight the maintenance and preservation of ten arterial roadways throughout the city. This event, occurring in all five City Council districts, aims to showcase the diligent work of the Street Operations Division in addressing a common urban issue—potholes. Mayor Victoria Woodards emphasizes the need to recognize city employees who strive to enhance road safety and quality. Deputy Mayor John Hines adds that while the region's weather makes potholes a persistent challenge, the city is committed to year-round road repairs. To ensure public safety, traffic control measures like lane closures and detours will be established at work zones.

Residents can expect notice boards to be placed at each location a week prior to the work. The city encourages community members to report potholes through the Tacoma FIRST 311 Customer Support Center to aid ongoing maintenance efforts. For more details, residents can visit the city’s website for FAQs and a full schedule of Pothole Palooza activities.
