Conference of Mayors to fast-track the planning phase of a workforce development hub and childcare facility on Tacoma's East Side. This initiative, led by the Pierce County Labor Community Services Agency, seeks to convert the former Willard Elementary School into a dual-purpose facility that addresses the critical needs for affordable childcare and skilled labor. By co-locating 24-hour childcare services with apprenticeship training programs, the project aims to remove employment barriers for working families, especially those in non-traditional jobs.
