Tacoma's Planning Commission is actively seeking community engagement as it approaches the public hearing for the draft "One Tacoma" Comprehensive Plan update, scheduled for March 5, 2025, at 6 PM in a hybrid format. This comprehensive plan is a vital tool for establishing Tacoma's vision and policy direction over the next 25 years, reflecting the needs and aspirations of its residents. Prior to the hearing, several public information sessions will be held, allowing community members to learn about the draft plan and ask questions. Written feedback is encouraged until March 7, ensuring that public input is integrated into the final recommendations for the City Council. In addition to the comprehensive plan, the Planning Commission is also considering minor amendments to the city’s development standards, further inviting community participation.

The city will host four events to provide updates on the "One Tacoma" plan and other key initiatives, including the South Tacoma Groundwater Protection District Plan. These events are designed to be family-friendly, with light refreshments provided, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for discussion.
