Tacoma's Justice Kamalue has emerged as a champion by winning the National Silver Gloves Championship, marking a significant milestone for the local boxing community. At just 14 years old, Kamalue trained for only a year under the watchful eye of Coach Tom Mustin at the Tacoma Boxing Club, where she faced numerous challenges. Mustin, known for his rigorous coaching style, pushed Kamalue to maintain her training regimen despite her initial doubts about her abilities. With unwavering support from her father, Cameron Jackson, Kamalue overcame fatigue and embraced the sport, ultimately falling in love with boxing. The National Silver Gloves competition, which caters to non-professional boxers aged 8 to 15, provided her with a platform to showcase her skills.

Her dedication, training four times a week, has not only led to personal success but also serves as an inspiring example for other young athletes in Tacoma. This victory highlights the importance of community support and resilience among youth in sports. Kamalue's story reflects the potential of local talent and the impact of mentorship in shaping future champions.
