Victim sues Alaska Airlines alleging in-flight sexual assault

Tacoma, WALocal News

Mark Lindquist, a local aviation attorney, has filed a lawsuit against Alaska Airlines after a victim reported an in-flight sexual assault by an intoxicated passenger on a flight from Seattle to Honolulu. The incident occurred when Mr. Brown, initially appearing sober, was repeatedly served alcohol by flight attendants, leading to his aggressive behavior towards the victim. Eyewitnesses have provided statements that support the victim's account, detailing Mr. Brown's inappropriate actions and his unsteady state upon disembarking.

The lawsuit alleges negligence and assault against Mr. Brown and negligence against Alaska Airlines for overserving him alcohol, which Lindquist argues contributed to the assault. He stresses that alcohol should not serve as an excuse for such behavior, calling for airlines to implement stricter policies regarding alcohol service. This case is part of a broader concern, as reports indicate a troubling uptick in sexual assaults on airlines, raising questions about passenger safety and airline responsibility. Lindquist seeks justice not only for his client but also aims to prevent future incidents.

His firm has a history of representing victims and advocating for accountability in aviation-related cases.
