Gig Harbor crash sends driver to hospital after being extricated from flipped vehicle

On January 1, 2025, a significant car accident occurred near Gig Harbor's waterfront, resulting in one driver being hospitalized after emergency responders extricated them from a flipped vehicle. The Gig Harbor Fire Department arrived at the scene at the intersection of Pioneer Way and Judson Street just before 1 p. m. The accident involved three vehicles, with two parked at the time. Division Chief Thomas Wescott indicated that the occupied vehicle flipped over, necessitating specialized extrication tools to free the trapped driver, who was then taken to the hospital.

The driver's condition remains undisclosed, and the cause of the crash is under investigation. This incident highlights the dangers of vehicle accidents in busy areas, and residents are encouraged to drive cautiously.
