The Snug Pub to Replace Yoga Studio in Tacoma's Proctor District

Tacoma, WALocal News

The historic Craftsman house in Tacoma's Proctor District will soon become The Snug Pub as the Evans family takes over the entire building, transitioning from the ground floor yoga studio. Tuladhara Yoga will hold its final class on December 23, 2024, before vacating by the end of the month. The Evans are crafting a diverse menu that includes traditional Irish fare like shepherd's pie and unique dishes such as rattlesnake sausage, linked to the legend of St. Patrick. Despite facing unexpected structural challenges and extensive renovations, they remain committed to opening in Spring 2025.

Alicia Barrett, the yoga studio owner, expressed her sadness over the closure, having seen enrollment decline due to ongoing construction. She is actively pursuing a new location to continue her yoga offerings in Tacoma. The community has shown strong support for the studio, which has been a staple in the Proctor District for over a decade. As this transition unfolds, both the Evans family and Barrett are focused on their respective futures in this evolving neighborhood.
