Shooting Incident in Downtown Puyallup Triggers Multi-Agency Police Response

A shooting incident occurred in downtown Puyallup on December 22, 2024, leading to a multi-agency police response and an ongoing investigation. At around 4:42 PM, witnesses reported that two suspects exited a Pierce Transit bus and fired multiple shots at a passenger seated in the rear. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the bus occupants, including the driver and four other passengers. Initially, the suspects were described as adult males in their 20s, but police later updated this to indicate they are likely under 18 years of age. Law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing leads with the assistance of a K-9 unit and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Officers recovered shell casings from the scene, and the bus sustained damage from gunfire. Police Chief Scott Engle expressed confidence in using video footage from the bus and surrounding areas to identify the suspects. The investigation remains active as authorities work to resolve the case and ensure community safety.
