Tacoma's "Criminal Sage" The Street Artist Redefining Urban Spaces

Tacoma, WALocal News

Street artist 'Criminal Sage' has transformed the streets of Tacoma with over 150 pieces of art that challenge societal norms and foster community engagement. Working discreetly, he uses recycled materials to create collages that explore themes of class, self, and beauty, often blending poetry with imagery to provoke thought. His anonymity is intentional, aiming to shift focus from the artist to the artwork itself, making art accessible to all, including those without homes. With around 200 social media followers, local recognition likens him to the 'Northwest Banksy,' underscoring his impact on the urban art scene. His work withstands Tacoma’s weather, indicating a supportive local environment for street art.

With a rich background in fine arts and two decades of experience, he has created art across multiple cities. Through his work, he reflects stark contrasts of wealth and poverty, enhancing the urban landscape and resonating with commuters and locals alike.
