Shooting in downtown Puyallup two suspects sought after firing at bus passenger

In a troubling incident in Puyallup, Washington, two shooters fired multiple rounds at a bus passenger, prompting an urgent response from local police. The shooting occurred around 4:42 p. m. on South Meridian, specifically targeting a passenger seated in the rear of a Pierce Transit bus. According to Police Chief Scott Engle, the suspects fled the scene on foot immediately after the attack.

Fortunately, the intended target, along with four other passengers and the bus driver, was unharmed despite the bus sustaining damage from the gunfire. As of the latest update, no arrests have been made, and detectives are actively pursuing leads in the ongoing investigation. Authorities believe the shooters are likely under 18 years old, raising concerns about youth involvement in violent crime. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, leaving the community on edge as they await further information from law enforcement. The police department has indicated that an update will be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
