The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber has revealed the winners of the 2024 Spotlight on Business Awards, celebrating five exceptional businesses and organizations for their vital contributions to the local community. The awards recognize achievements in economic vitality, community engagement, and inclusivity, with Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium named Business Champion. This zoo, established in 1905, attracts around 700,000 visitors each year while upholding high standards of animal welfare. The Downtown Tacoma Partnership received the Small Business Champion award for its efforts to enhance the urban environment. Mi Centro, a non-profit organization supporting Latino and Indigenous families, was honored with the Non-Profit Impact award for its educational and advocacy initiatives.

Buffalo Soldiers Museum was recognized as the Business Supporter of the Military, highlighting the significance of honoring African American history. Maxwell Synové Photography, a women-owned business, was celebrated for its unique perspective and commitment to diverse representation in the arts. Chamber President Andrea Reay expressed pride in recognizing these exemplary businesses that inspire a brighter future for the region.
