12-year-old girl struck by man attempting to steal her mother’s vehicle in Tacoma

A 12-year-old girl was hospitalized with minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle during an attempted car theft in Tacoma on December 18, 2024. The incident occurred around 8:40 p. m. as the girl and her mother were exiting their car in the 6800 block of South K Street. The suspect attempted to steal the vehicle and hit the girl while fleeing the scene.

Thanks to prompt police action, the stolen vehicle was recovered, and the suspect was arrested shortly after. He faces multiple charges, including first-degree robbery and hit-and-run. The girl's condition is stable, and she is expected to recover. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about vehicle theft and public safety in Tacoma, prompting calls for increased vigilance in the community.
