On the evening of December 18, 2024, a 12-year-old girl in Tacoma was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle during a car theft attempt. The incident occurred around 8:40 p. m. on the 6800 block of South K Street, where the girl and her mother were exiting their car. The suspect allegedly entered the mother’s vehicle and attempted to flee, hitting the girl in the process.

Fortunately, she was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries. Tacoma Police quickly located the vehicle and initiated a pursuit, leading to the suspect's arrest. The man faces serious charges, including first-degree robbery and hit-and-run, reflecting the gravity of his actions. This incident raises concerns about vehicle theft and public safety in the area, highlighting ongoing challenges for law enforcement.
