Reynon, an enrolled member of the Puyallup Tribe, has over 22 years of experience as a tribal attorney and has held various leadership roles, including as Seattle's tribal relations director. Gov. Ferguson praised Reynon's leadership and commitment to enhancing government-to-government relationships with tribal entities.

Reynon's past work includes significant contributions to police accountability and community relations initiatives, reflecting his dedication to social justice. Upon accepting the position, he expressed honor and commitment to work alongside Ferguson to respect tribal sovereignty and protect environmental resources. His official start date is January 15, and he aims to improve the lives of all Indigenous people in Washington. Ferguson’s administration is focusing on new leadership across nine state agencies, indicating a broader strategy for governance. Reynon’s appointment is seen as a vital step towards fostering better relations between the state government and tribal communities.
