A 57-year-old man was arrested in Gig Harbor on Friday morning while attempting to steal an ATM machine, resulting in damages estimated at around $60,000. The incident began when the Gig Harbor Police Department received a tip from a video-security company about two suspects using a truck to steal the ATM from a bank. Officers arrived to find the men trying to attach a chain to the machine. When confronted, the suspects fled on foot, prompting a coordinated response from law enforcement, including a K9 unit.
