Tacoma man tied to white supremacist gang drug ring sentenced
Ronnie Griffin, a 66-year-old Tacoma man, has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for his involvement in a drug distribution ring associated with the white supremacist Aryan Family prison gang. Over a two-year investigation, law enforcement seized approximately 223 pounds of methamphetamine, 830,000 fentanyl pills, and various other drugs, along with numerous firearms and drug proceeds totaling around $338,000. Griffin held a leadership role in the operation, acting as a redistributor and confidant to his stepson Jesse Bailey, who is set for sentencing in 2025. His extensive criminal history, including theft and drug possession convictions, highlights a troubling pattern of recidivism. This case underscores significant issues surrounding drug trafficking and gang-related activities in Tacoma, reflecting broader societal concerns regarding the influence of white supremacist groups within criminal enterprises.
The involvement of multiple individuals in this operation further emphasizes the extensive networks facilitating drug distribution, raising critical concerns about community safety.
