Starting December 10, 2024, commuters on I-5 near DuPont will experience lane closures for a railroad bridge inspection by Burlington Northern Santa Fe crews. Southbound lanes will close at 10 p. m. and reopen by 5:30 a. m.

on December 11. Northbound lanes will close at 8:30 p. m. on December 11, reopening by 4:30 a. m.

on December 12. Exit 116 to Mounts Road will be closed during this time, leading to potential delays. WSDOT anticipates significant congestion in the work zones and advises commuters to adjust travel plans to avoid delays. This inspection is crucial for maintaining the bridge's safety and ensuring smooth traffic flow in the future.
