WA Rep. Michelle Caldier announces campaign for state Senate

Washington state Rep. Michelle Caldier has officially launched her campaign for the state Senate in the 26th Legislative District, following the resignation of Democratic Sen. Emily Randall, who is transitioning to Congress. With a decade of experience in the state House, Caldier is advocating for a more balanced representation in Olympia, asserting that current legislative measures do not adequately represent all constituents. Her campaign priorities include enhancing law enforcement capabilities, reducing crime, improving educational outcomes, and increasing access to quality healthcare.

Fellow Republican Rep. Spencer Hutchins has publicly endorsed Caldier, highlighting her commitment to her beliefs. The special election is scheduled for November 2025, allowing voters to decide who will fill the remainder of Randall's term. This announcement comes as the process to appoint Randall's successor is already underway, with an appointee expected soon.
