The Peninsula School District has made a significant investment by purchasing 20. 42 acres of land in Purdy for $6. 2 million, adjacent to Peninsula High School. This acquisition is part of the district's efforts to modernize aging facilities. While specific plans for the land are not yet established, the Long Range Facilities Advisory Board is currently assessing potential developments, reflecting the district's proactive approach to planning.

The funding for this purchase comes from interest accrued from a $198. 55 million bond passed in 2019, which previously supported the construction and renovation of schools. Although there are no immediate plans, district officials are engaging the community in discussions about future uses. This acquisition is seen as a crucial step in enhancing educational infrastructure to accommodate growth in the rapidly developing Purdy area.
