A tragic pedestrian accident in Puyallup on Saturday night led to the death of a 26-year-old Tacoma woman. The incident occurred around 11 p. m. when she and her two children parked their disabled vehicle, and she attempted to flag down assistance. A 31-year-old driver, who was not impaired, struck her while driving north.

The driver remained at the scene and called 911 but was cited for driving with a suspended license and lacking proof of insurance. The woman was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after. This incident highlights ongoing pedestrian safety issues, particularly in areas with high vehicle-pedestrian interaction, and emphasizes the need for driver awareness and caution.
