The Peninsula School District has made a significant investment by purchasing 20. 42 acres of land in Purdy for $6. 2 million, adjacent to Peninsula High School, which requires modernization. While district officials have indicated that the potential uses for this property are extensive, specific plans have not yet been detailed. The funding for this acquisition came from interest generated by a $198.

55 million bond passed in 2019, which also financed the construction of two new elementary schools and renovations of existing ones. The district's Long Range Facilities Advisory Board is tasked with evaluating the needs of schools and guiding future developments on this newly acquired land. Although no immediate projects are planned, the board is actively researching options that could include new educational facilities or athletic resources. The land's strategic location near existing district infrastructure makes it a valuable investment for the growing community, highlighting the district's commitment to addressing the needs of its aging facilities, particularly with regard to the two high schools in the area.
