Tacoma, WALocal News

The Lakewood City Council has approved a $90,000 plan to repair the American Lake Park boat launch, which was closed in October due to low water levels and vehicle damage. The repairs will replace damaged planks and blocks, add large boulders for stability, and install an articulating mat at the ramp's end. Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Mary Dodsworth emphasized the importance of timing these repairs during low water levels. The city is partnering with the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for cost-effective repairs, utilizing local expertise. The repairs are expected to begin this month, addressing community concerns and restoring access to this important recreational resource.
