Grit City Greens closing Tacoma restaurant | Tacoma News Tribune

Tacoma, WALocal News

Grit City Greens, a Tacoma cafe celebrated for its healthy meal offerings, is set to close permanently on December 13 due to rising operational costs and challenging landlord-tenant relationships. Owners Corie Cameron and Sean Guay, who initially launched the business as Crisp Meals in 2016, expressed their sadness over the end of this chapter but are grateful for the support from the Tacoma community throughout their journey. The cafe became a local favorite for its customizable salads and meal prep services, gaining attention for delivering meals to healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a heartfelt message, the owners recounted their experiences and challenges faced as small business owners in a difficult economic climate, including legal issues from a similarly named chain that prompted their rebranding. As they prepare for closure, Cameron and Guay look forward to spending time with their children during the holidays while hoping to remain connected to the food service industry.

Grit City Greens will continue to operate on a standard schedule until their closing date.
