Seattle remains among top best cities for singles in U.S. | Tacoma News Tribune

Tacoma, WALocal News

A new Wallethub study has identified Seattle as one of the best cities for singles in the U. S. , despite the city's well-known 'Seattle freeze' that complicates social interactions. The ranking assessed 182 cities based on various factors, including online dating opportunities and average meal costs for two. Seattle remains appealing due to its rich array of attractions, such as social clubs and music festivals, but it slipped from the top position it held in 2023 due to a low ranking in economic factors, particularly the high cost of living and housing affordability.

Despite these challenges, Seattle boasts one of the highest median household incomes in the nation, exceeding $80,000 for non-family households, making it attractive for those seeking financially stable partners. Other Washington cities like Spokane, Tacoma, and Vancouver also made the list, highlighting the state's overall friendliness to singles. This ranking illustrates the complexities of dating in urban environments, where local culture and economic conditions play significant roles in social interactions.
