Art on the Ave turns 25 this year
Tacoma's Art on the Ave festival will mark its 25th anniversary on July 20, transforming a 10-block section of 6th Avenue from noon to 7 p. m. into a hub of culture and creativity. With over 230 vendors, the festival will feature food trucks, beer gardens, and live music across four stages, including performances by local favorites like The Lumen and The Little Donuts. New this year is The Native Art on the Ave, presented by the La Paloma Project, which will focus on Indigenous artists and culture.
Stein Hansen, the new district manager for 6th Avenue, underscores the role of local businesses in funding the event, which enhances community engagement and promotes the district. Hansen has personal ties to the festival, recalling his past involvement with the Gnar Bar and local bands. The festival not only showcases the local arts scene but also supports the businesses that contribute to Tacoma's vibrant character. Art on the Ave is a testament to the city's creative spirit and a celebration of its diverse community.
