Business Council appreciates police force

Tacoma, WALocal News

On June 26, the Tacoma Business Council hosted an appreciation lunch for Tacoma Police Department personnel, continuing its support for law enforcement established in 2022. President Kristen Wynne stated that the event aimed to provide a tangible expression of community gratitude for officers' critical work. The lunch included a variety of foods, such as barbequed chicken and Ezell's fried chicken, creating a relaxed environment for officers to unwind. Wynne praised Interim Chief Patti Jackson for her warm and competent leadership, noting the positive atmosphere at police headquarters. The Business Council is also closely following the upcoming mayoral and city council elections, with a focus on candidates' views on law enforcement.

Wynne emphasized that business operations rely on a strong police presence to deter crime and ensure safety for customers and property. The appreciation lunch is part of the Business Council's broader efforts to reinforce community support for police. An awards ceremony for the department is scheduled for July 17 at Wynne's Historic 1625 Tacoma Place.
